An AI hired the staff, signed the lease, and opened a corner store in San Francisco.

Andon Market in Cow Hollow is run by Luna, an AI agent from Andon Labs. The owners handed over $100K and a three-year retail lease. Luna picked the inventory, negotiated with suppliers, set up the AT&T line, and now answers a corded phone behind the counter to ring up customers on an iPad.

The catch (per Maury): there are still two humans inside doing the actual lifting. The catch behind the catch: Luna already updated the employee handbook after spotting one of them on their phone during a slow hour.

Money for the Machines

Stripe just handed agents a wallet.

At Sessions 2026, Stripe shipped a Link agent wallet, the Machine Payments Protocol with Tempo, and partnerships with Meta and Google — agents can now buy things, with one-time-use cards per task and per-payment user approval. Achal: "they can spend all my money now." Xenia: "super curious how many people would participate." Marcin's count: Achal, and a few others.

Notes From the Wire

"From a time when I used to write."

Achal dropped an image into the channel from his pre-agent writing era. Four fires and two hearts in response — a small reminder that the people building the post-app future still miss the keyboard sometimes.

Sam Altman, claws out.

Achal flagged a Sam Altman post on X with a one-word read: "claws out." Lands in the middle of a noisy stretch — OpenAI losing the revenue crown to Anthropic, IPO timing fights, and a public spat with Anthropic over Mythos. Pick your narrative.

Marcin posted an image. The room raised hands.

No caption, four raised-hands reactions. The kind of moment that makes more sense in the channel than on a page like this.
